Hello, a little history of my art career and my art.
I have been drawing since my single digits (I am now 61) and have kept that interest all of my life. I did some oil painting in the early and mid seventies and turned exclusively to pen & ink drawing in 1976. In 1982 I returned to graphite as my medium of which is probably my favorite if I have one.
In December of 1977 I participated in my first art show and I was totally amazed! I could have sold all of my original drawings (23 of them) but didn't. I made prints of some of them and the following spring of 1978 I was on my way with my art career.
It was in the early 80's when I really found my style which is on the small size and very detailed.
In 1986 I started my series of pen & ink drawings of Universities. These were of a composite of views and very time consuming and hard on the eyes.
Unfortunately for me by the nineties by reason of doing everything myself I started suffering from what they call 'burnout'. At the same time a business mistake and the need of caring for my elderly parents brought the end of doing art shows.
However all of this had a good side also. I stayed active not only with my pencil work but explored with Charcoal, Pastel, Mixed Media, and some nice effective beautiful drawings on some unusual material.
I also did some carving in wood (again), clay, marble, jaspers, alabaster, and metal. If I had the money and setup I would love to work in marble for a few years.
I am now in the process of building my third website, (second for art) and am trying to get listed in sites such as this one. I hope to keep working with my art for some time yet.
I am now living in Greenfield, Indiana which is twenty miles east of where I was born and raised.
